Legacy
for M.B. Brown Construction started in 1944 when the late M.B. Brown
Sr. and former Lucille Sapp moved from Florida to Georgia. Having
a vision and dream to make a better life for his family, he started
a landscape/gardener business. Being blessed with five sons he passed
on hard work, honesty, integrity and entrepreneurship. His vision
of independence in being a successful entrepreneur laid the foundation
for his son’s today. He worked and showed us the importance
of being prepared in order to get ahead in life. As times progressed
his teachings demonstrated the faith and belief he had in preparation
for life. Concerned about his family and future generations he pushed
on.
In 1985 B & B Maid and Janitorial Inc was started by Mason B. and Nina C. Brown. Sharing the dream of M. B. Brown Sr., in 1989 my brother Jim Brown and his wife joined the company. Our rapid growth and reputation of excellence in the cleaning business placed many opportunities in our path. Our quality assurance program is one that minimizes problems. When problems occur they are handled expediently. We believe in supporting our community. We have sponsored Little League sports and church related activities. Our company is actively involved with the Chamber of Commerce. We were also instrumental in feeding approximately 5,000 people in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. We have been recognized by the Beacon Council as one of the top African-American businesses in Dade County. In 1992 we won the Pacesetters award given yearly by the Miami Herald. The State of Florida has also presented us with an award two difference times as one of the Top Twenty-Five African-American businesses in the State. We were blessed to be teamed up with Suffolk Construction whose concern for people and the desire to give back to the community prompted them to grow our business to the next level. Their foresight, encouragement, mentoring and support to always be the best, thus M.B. Brown Construction was born. Our Construction Management Partnership with Suffolk Construction has afforded us the opportunity to participate in renovations of Palm Beach Public and new construction of Lake Worth Middle School.
